Three or four tiny bodies squeezed onto single wooden planks meant for one child, while dozens of others stood against the rough walls for hours. Looking into their sweaty, tired faces broke our hearts. Consequently, Better Life NGO immediately stepped in to draft an emergency infrastructural plan to build new blocks and give these beautiful minds room to breathe.
Initially, the physical and mental exhaustion that these vulnerable students endure just to listen to a basic morning lesson is deeply unfair. As a result of an absolute lack of funding, school structures are crumbling while the community population grows rapidly. Furthermore, trying to learn to read or write in a loud, overheated room makes total concentration completely impossible for a young mind. Watching these dedicated students push through the intense heat just to copy notes from a distant blackboard deeply moved our entire field team. It showed us that providing a desk means nothing if the children are fighting for basic physical space. BREAKING THE SUFFOCATION: WHY WE MUST ELIMINATE CROWDED CLASSROOMS
Undeniably, leaving vulnerable children to study in packed, hazardous spaces denies them their basic human right to a quality foundational education.
